The March LARC Board Meeting will be held at the Elk’s Lodge #80 (5910 S 58th St) instead of the Red Cross due to meetings being held at the Red Cross dealing with flooding. The meeting will still be held at 7:00 pm.
Lincoln Hamfest
The Lincoln Hamfest / Nebraska State ARRL Convention is Saturday, March 9, at the Lancaster Event Center. It will run from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Be sure to bring a friend. The convention is open to the public this year. For more information, see www.lincolnhamfest.org.
The annual pre-convention dinner will be at Lee’s Chicken on Friday, March 8, at 5:30 pm. Everyone orders off the menu. To reserve a seat, contact Bruce Wood, WAØRIM, at bruce.wood3@icloud.com.
March Club Meeting
The March club meeting is March 13 at 19:30. We will meet at LI-COR (4647 Superior Street) – located near the intersection of Superior Street and North 48th Street.
Dr. Ken Dewey, WDØBIV
It’s that time of year again for our very own Ken Dewey, WDØBIV, to give his annual presentation. Ken will review the past 12 months of weather, especially our weird and wacky winter, as well as what we might expect with this spring’s severe weather season. Ken will also give an overview of the upcoming Central Plains Severe Weather Symposium and Family Weatherfest, which includes storm spotter training, scheduled for Saturday, April 6, at the Nebraska Innovation Campus.
March VE Testing
There will be two testing opportunities this month. The monthly VE test will be held as scheduled at the Red Cross on Thursday, March 7, at 6:30 pm. There will also be VE testing during Hamfest on March 9. Testing will be held from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. See www.lincolnhamfest.org for details about the event.
February Club Meeting

Lincoln-Lancaster County Emergency Management
Jim Davidsaver, Lincoln-Lancaster County Emergency Management Director, will be our presenter at the February club meeting.
The new EOC is operational. Jim will show us some photos and let us know all we need to about the new facility.
