April Club Meeting

The April club meeting is April 12 at 19:30. We will meet at LI-COR (4647 Superior Street) – located near the intersection of Superior Street and North 48th Street.

Jim Davidsaver, Lancaster County Emergency Management Director, will talk about the EOC (Emergency Operation Center).

The EOC is designed to coordinate and manage the response and recovery operations during disasters and other declared emergencies.

The most common activation of the EOC is severe weather, so you don’t want to miss this presentation!

March Club Meeting

Presentation by Ken Dewey

After years of chasing storms, the storms finally caught Ken Dewey, WDØBIV, and trashed his home and neighborhood on the afternoon of May 9, 2016. Come to the next club meeting at LI-COR on March 8. Ken will give us his first-hand account, with photos and videos, of Lincoln’s worst hailstorm on record and Lincoln’s first tornado since 1957.

Oh, and he might just give us an outlook of what to expect this coming storm season in our area.

ALLO Communications: Zero to Gigabit in Light Speed!

Mark Caniglia and Nick Colton of ALLO Communications will present on how ALLO communications is bringing gigabit internet, voice, and video to Lincoln.

Mark will provide the marketing details of ALLO and how you can benefit from being a subscriber of ALLO while Nick will present all the technology facts that you will not want to miss.

After the presentation there will be a question and answer session.

November Club Meeting

The November club meeting is November 9 at 19:30. We will meet at Firespring (1201 Infinity Court — located between Pine Lake and Yankee Hill, west of 14th street). Parking is in the front.

Board nominees & Bob Fricke Award

We will meet LARC Board nominees and take nominations from the floor. Board members serve a two-year term, with half the members up for election each year.

Entries for the Bob Fricke Award will also be judged, so bring out those projects you have been working on.

October Club Meeting

John C. Haxby – Cinemaphotographer & Storm Chaser

John C. Haxby is a professional cinemaphotographer and a professional
storm chaser. He will talk about what it’s like to be a storm chaser, some do’s
and don’ts for us as storm spotters, and some experiences he has had along
with pictures.

John worked for KOLN-TV until last year when he went to work with
WeatherNation. John has spent last week in Iowa reporting on the floods.
