Emergency Services in Lancaster County

Jim Davidsaver, Lancaster County Emergency Management Director, and Ed Holloway, KØRPT, Nebraska ARES Emergency Coordinator, will present on emergency preparedness and the coming weather spotter season.

Ken Dewey: 2017 Weather in Review and 2018 WeatherFest

Come out to LI-COR and listen to Dr. Ken Dewey, WDØBIV, as he gives a behind-the-cumulonimbus look at Nebraska’s sometimes mild, sometimes wild weather. He’ll bring us a sneak peek into what to expect this year. Ken will also talk about the Central Plains Weather Symposium and Family Weatherfest, which will be at UNL’s Innovation Campus on Saturday, April 7.

General Class Starting

Have your Technician license and interested in upgrading?

Join us in room 130 at Union College’s Krueger Center (approximately 50th and Bancroft) from 18:30-21:30 starting Wednesday, January 17.  The class will run six weeks.  Testing will be provided at the end of the class.

No book is required and the class is free, but the ARRL General Class License Manual 8th Edition is highly recommended.  It is available from the ARRL and Amazon in print (paperback or spiral and Kindle).

Registration is not required.  Just show up.

VE location update

The monthly VE testing location has moved. February and future VE testing sessions will be held at the Red Cross building, 220 Oak Creek Drive. Testing sessions are held the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.
